The opening and closing motion of cutting with scissors helps children develop the small muscles in their hands otherwise known as fine motor skills.
Junk modelling, loose parts play or heuristic play all work on the principle that non-directive materials support a greater degree of flexible behaviour and as such support innovation and creativity.
Small world play offers so much to children for enriching their language, imaginative play and storytelling skills.
Light tables can be used for literacy, math, music, writing, and science
Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.
Sensory – feeling various textures, squishy, bubbly and hearing the popping noise. Hand and eye coordination. Fine motor skills development. Sense of achievement and pride. Experimenting with shapes and space. Shape recognition.
About us
The Brislington Village Pre-School was registered as a private limited company in September 2015. It took over a pre-existing committee run pre-school that was established in 1972.
The Pre-School is open term-time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am to 5pm and Wednesday 8am - 12 noon.
Fee paying:-
18 months -2 years £5.40
2 years - 3 years £5.30
3 years upwards £5.20
Minimum of 8 hours per week.
Breakfast options are available.

We take children from the age of 18 months old.

The pre-school is owned and directed by Ms Nicola Aldridge.
The manager is
Mrs Christine Laing.
The deputy manager is
Ms Sara Pearce.
SENCO team is Ms Nicola Aldridge, Mrs Christine Laing, Ms Sara Pearce.
Acting deputy manager and room leader of the toddler room is Ms Megan Tucker.
The room leader of the Pre-school room is Ms Phobie Barnett.
The company secretary is Mrs Gill Hutton.
We regularly attend training sessions and continue to further our educational studies.
